Im sure that the characters were robots with TVs for heads, i clearly remember a yellow one with a red bow on her head that spun or she could have been red with a yellow bow… something like that lol, and there was a small pink dog robot that was a camcorder (the lens was its nose)
That’s pretty much all i can remember…
If you know the name or what it could be PLEASE tell me

Please, I just want clear, general steps in creating great custom vinyl toys. I went on the Kid Robot forums and browsed around hoping it would help, but it was too unorganized and confusing for me. Keep it simple also.

Preparation:
What should I do after I cleaned the figure thoroughly with water and soap? Sand then primer or vice-versa? Recommended brands? Kind of primer/sand paper?

Painting:
Trying to stick with acrylic spray paint for now, but not sure which brand will provide the best finish that’s also inexpensive (<$10 a can). Recommended brands? Best brand for metallic finish? Glossy finish? Flat/matte finish? Don’t want to mess with brushes, I loathe brushes.

Finish:
Best clear coat for acrylic and vinyl? Something durable that won’t chip easily. Recommended brands? What are the different kinds of clear coats for the different kind of finishes?

Etc. (not necessary, but welcomed):
Tips and advice in general when it comes to painting. My goal in life is to pretty much become a great designer and artist.

Hoping to hear from you guys! Also, I’d love to see some of your work too! Thanks!

As principal of Los Angelesbased 344 Design, Stefan Bucher has worked in the fields of advertising, graphic design, and illustration. He began his career at a young age in his native Germany, redrawing existing ads in need of a design makeover, some of which he sold to the original clients. After studies at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, Bucher worked briefly in advertising before striking out on his own as a designer and entrepreneur. He is author and designer of the books The Graphic Eye: Photographs by Graphic Designers from around the Globe and All Access: The Making of Thirty Extraordinary Graphic Designers as well as 100 Days of Monsters, which documents his creations for the blog dailymonster.com. Beginning with just a few drops of ink and a can of compressed air, Bucher transforms these abstract and random blots into fanciful and imaginative creatures. Published through his blog, his monsters have inspired a creative community of contributors—people who have written inventive back stories for his creatures, those helping to build the worlds tallest monster by adding their own piece, or others who participate in his Open Source Monster forum.
